Who We Are
Investors, entrepreneurs, and mentors who back founders early.
Bay Angels members are former founders, tech industry veterans, and experienced angel investors. We don't operate as a fund. Each member invests independently or syndicates with other angels in the network, giving founders flexible, relationship-driven capital.
Our community has backed companies like OpenTable and Photobucket from the earliest stages. In 2025, one in four presenting companies at our live pitch events received an investment.

Berri Organics
Plant-based organic fitness drinks and electrolyte solutions (Berri Fit and Berri Lyte). Sold in roughly 2,000 stores across 33+ states, including Whole Foods, CVS, Target, Wegmans, and Sprouts. Founder Jerome Tse was named to Forbes 30 Under 30.

Photo and video hosting platform that grew into one of the largest image hosts on the web after presenting to Bay Angels in its early days. Acquired by News Corp's Fox Interactive Media in 2007.
Ediphi
Cloud-based estimating and preconstruction platform for general contractors. CEO Dustin DeVan previously founded BuildingConnected, acquired by Autodesk.
Anthropos
Enterprise platform that discovers, measures, and transforms workforce competencies at scale. $450K ARR, 12 paying customers, and four multi-year contracts, including Italgas as the largest enterprise account and a completed €100K proof of concept with FS Italian Railways. Presented live in September 2026.
BigRentals
National rental marketplace for trailers and construction equipment, described as Shopify for equipment rentals, operating in 200+ US cities.
Lumenuity
Fabless optics company commercializing Caltech-born Light Unfolding technology that delivers DSLR-level zoom in smartphone-sized cameras. Announced a collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, completed a DARPA contract in 2025, and was a finalist for Pepperdine's Most Fundable Companies.
Nuvothera
Consumer healthcare company behind Prosoria, a two-step over-the-counter psoriasis treatment. Became the top-selling brand in its category at Walgreens within two months of national distribution and is now carried at CVS, Walmart.com, and Amazon. Founder Art Clapp spent two decades at Galderma.
OraQ AI
AI clinical decision support for dentists, flagging patient risk across seven areas in real time. Cleared by Health Canada and the US FDA in 2023 and partnered with Medit.
Nivati
Employee mental health and wellbeing platform offering teletherapy, meditation, nutrition, fitness, and financial wellness tools. Has made the Inc. 5000 list twice.
Signum.AI
AI platform that tracks buying signals across target companies and tells B2B sales teams who to contact and when. Grew to $3.7M in annual revenue in 2024 with a 14-person team.
Atronous AI
AI data engine that turns messy retail product data into consumer-ready catalogs in hours. Secured six paid contracts and $118K ARR within eight months of launch, with pilots at Henry Schein and CFS Brands, and won the $50,000 first prize at TiEcon 2025.
Afterlife Ag
Circular farming company that converts restaurant food waste into substrate for gourmet mushrooms sold back to New York chefs, growing roughly 1,000 pounds a week. Backed by Clear Current Capital, Siddhi Capital, and Brooklyn Bridge Ventures.
Applied Impact Robotics
Robots that inspect crude oil storage tank floors while the tanks stay in service, with partnerships at BP and Chevron.
Robes Rental
Finnish peer-to-peer luxury fashion rental platform featured in Vogue as a fashion tech startup to watch. Acquired by Nordic resale platform Bought in December 2025, one month after presenting to Bay Angels.
Lexius
AI that turns a store's existing security cameras into real-time shoplifting detection, with no facial recognition. Y Combinator listed, trusted by retailers including Erewhon, and holding a waitlist of retailers representing more than 4,000 stores.

Roger King
Founder, Bay Angels
Roger King founded Bay Angels in 1997 after organizing startup pitch competitions for the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce. Under his leadership, Bay Angels helped launch companies like OpenTable from the earliest stages and developed a model of angel investing emulated globally. Roger also founded Chief People, an executive and technical recruiting firm whose clients have included SoftBank Robotics, Gracenote, and OpenTable.
